MJPOA Presidents
Message
May 2007
Well, another year has come and gone and the
MJPOA has accomplished some good worthwhile training's. We have had two great
training's one in the early part of the year at Regis College and the last was
the joint conference with Region 4 Nasro which was held in Leominster.
I
want to thank the training committee for all the hard work that they did so professionally.
The Two day conference provided all great workshops and we also thank all those
that donated their time to instruct classes.
As for
the this year we will be ending the year with a closing meeting in Marshfield
at Jamie's Pub on Rte 139, Ocean Street. This will be on Monday June 25th at 12:00
noon. This is open for all members and even non members. This meeting is to swear
in all new officers for the MJPOA. We will also discuss the up coming goals for
next year.
The MJPOA has also established a new set
of bylaws to keep up with the new MJPOA. This will be on the web site soon for
all to view and review. The MJPOA has had to take on a new role over the past
four years and this was to keep the organization moving forward. We haven't really
acquired any new members but since the April conference we have had many that
want to belong. So I urge anyone that is interested in joining read the web site
and by laws and get involved. The MJPOA role for now is a training organization
that will be there for law enforcement, schools and juvenile related fields. Anyone
that is a current paid member will be allowed to vote.
Congratulations
to the incoming President Dan Perenick, Treasurer Scott Camileri and new position
Clerk Lloyd Burke. I also want to thank Ben Mackiewicz for all his years as treasurer
and the great job he has done.
There will be 2 boards of governors which will
be Kevin Kennedy and I. The four years as your president have been enjoyable experience
but now I leave it for some new energy that will guide us into the next generation
of leadership in the MJPOA.
Thanks
President
